Waqar Hasan, a 12 year old boy, is rigorously striving with a Valvular heart disease for the past six years. Why could he not be operated for valvular replacement is still a question mark for PIC Faisalabad and Lahore, the purpose built cardiology centers in public sector. Is it just because of his poor financial background? The boy and his family, looking for answers, wandered outside the doors of “big-city” hospitals for several months until MMBT found him. The trust took immediate action by first using its resources in Lahore, while we arranged requisite funds for his surgery through a renowned Philanthropist of Lahore. Waqar is now being treated at his native village in Jhelum, under Dr. Arshad Shariq, one of the leading cardiologists of the District and a volunteer consultant doctor with M.M.B.T.
